A 50-year-old man from Mangaluru has lost ₹23.10 lakh in an online investment scam.
The victim told police he was contacted through Facebook by a man claiming to offer high-return stock trading.
He was later added to multiple WhatsApp groups that looked professional and convincing.
An app showed fake profits running into lakhs.
When he tried to withdraw the money, he was asked to invest more.
That is when he realised the truth.
He contacted the Cyber Helpline 1930 and filed a complaint.
The case is now registered at Mangaluru North Police Station under cyber fraud and IT laws.
